Learning with Art Think Cafe

Learning opportunities are moving on-line. The current state of our world means that gathering in groups is not possible these days, but learning, gathering, and sharing will continue! Through the miracle of modern technology, we are finding new ways.

So here is my first COVID session. It includes of the following:

Four chapters. Each chapter consists of a recorded lesson, a hands-on exercise, a “shared” studio session via video conferencing, and we will schedule opportunities for group and individual critique, as needed.

This course introduces contemporary artists and explores their approaches and artwork. Along with looking at the work of these daring young artists, this session will focus on the role of shapes: geometric shapes, free-form shapes, negative shapes, empty shapes. Colour will happen in every chapter as well: loud colour, subtle colour, no colour, minimal colour; colour theory is ever present in all we do.

This course is designed to encourage experimentation, while learning core art theory.

Is this the right course for you?

This course is specifically designed for current and previous “Just Do It!” Experimental Painting participants. Our classes have been interrupted! It is my hope that these classes will help you to continue in your artistic journey. The first session will be offered in summer 2020, and with the flexibility of technology, it can be offered again in the future.

Overall, the course is suitable for experienced artists who are seeking new approaches in their art.

Registration is required to participate in this program.
Course fee: $140

Colour matters!
